AWF WRESTLING
“HUGH’S LAUGHING NOW” @
ST MATTHEWS HALL, FAWKNER
FRIDAY 13 APRIL, 2007
The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) returns to Victoria, debuting at the St Matthews Hall in Fawkner, for a huge evening of groundbreaking pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and an international visitor.
AWF Wrestling is excited to be coming to Fawkner, and will look to make live pro-wrestling a regular attraction in the area in 2007, with strong cards and action planned for 4 huge events at the venue during the year.
The first supercard at Fawkner will take place on Friday 13th April, 2007 and will feature a main event worthy of headlining any independent wrestling show in the world. The AWF Australian Championship will be up for grabs, with current champion, “Australia’s Most Explosive Wrestler” TNT taking on direct from the USA, former WWE and WCW superstar, Bill “Hugh Morrus” Demott.
TNT has been AWF Australasian Champion since January 7, when he defeated Japan’s top ranked wrestler Cima in Cardiff for the title. Since then TNT has taken on all comers, and looks stronger than ever defending his championship.
On the other hand Bill Demott is hungry and back on the world independent wrestling scene. Demott parted ways with WWE in late January and is now looking to take championships around the world. His first stop he says is taking the AWF Australasian Championship. The laughing man “Hugh Morrus” says the he intends on using his 6’2” and 130 kg frame of brute force to moonsault his way to the title, and make an impact here in Australia. Demott commented “The AWF Title is world revered and I intend on taking it home to the USA. This is one Friday The 13th TNT and Australian wrestling fans will never forget! Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha!”
Both men have been training like never before for this AWF Championship bout, and it promises to be a classic display of exciting pro-wrestling that the AWF is renowned for, and will be the perfect main event for AWF’s return to Victoria.
Along with the heart stopping main event, a huge undercard is planned taking on a New South Wales versus Victoria theme. Scheduled bouts will see NSW’s “Platinum Player” JT Robinson taking on Victoria’s own “Mad Dog” Mcrea, Three Way action with Jay Law taking on Spike Steele and Jay Andrews, Young Lion’s competition with Powerhouse Theo battling Slex, Tag Team action with Billy Flyswat & Chris X battling the brothers tandem of Krackejack and Logan, and rounding out the card The Captain will test the destructive powers of Steve Frost with Benny English.
These first encounters of Victoria versus NSW on Victorian soil will surely be intriguing encounters and the ultimate winners will no doubt be the Melbourne fans as they witness State of Origin Wrestling.
The “Hugh’s Laughing Now” Fawkner event is sure to be a blow away evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night of exciting wrestling action be sure to make it along and support the Australian Wrestling Federation at St Matthews Hall for a Friday the 13th you will never forget!
We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs.

AUSTRALIA’S CUP @ BLACKTOWN RSL
SAT 14 APRIL, 2007
The Australian Wrestling Federation (AWF) makes its return to Blacktown RSL Club for “The Australia’s Cup” on Saturday 14 April with a huge evening of pro-wrestling action, featuring Australia’s top professional wrestlers and an international visitor.
The last AWF Blacktown event on 6 January saw Japan’s Cima defeat Steve Ravenous and TNT to become AWF Champion. The very next night, TNT was able to defeat Cima, and has been successful in all title defenses so far and remains the current AWF Australasian Champion.
The second supercard at Blacktown for the year “Australia’s Cup 2007” will feature an AWF Title Bout five years in the making, as the former “Detonation Crew” explodes, with AWF Australasian Champion TNT, set to defend his title against former tag team partner Kid Dynamite.
Kid Dynamite shockingly turned against his mentor TNT at the finally of the 6 January Blacktown event, smashing TNT in the back and head with a chair when TNT seemingly had Cima defeated for the AWF title. Ever since, Dynamite has been ambushing TNT at every chance, trying to get the psychological and physical advantage in the lead up to this bout. This will surely be an explosive bout that will be nothing short of warfare.
Along with the heart stopping AWF Title Bout, a 4 man tournament will take place, with the winner to be declared “The 2007 Australia’s Cup Holder”.
The bracketing will see in Bracket A: JT Robinson take on direct from the USA, Bill “Hugh Morrus” Demott, and in Bracket B: The Crocmaster face off with Steve Ravenous. The winners from Brackets A and B will face off in the deciding match to see who will be the Cup winner. Along with the honor of being the cup holder for 2007, the winner will also receive an AWF Title shot to be used at their disgression.
The addition of former WWE and WCW Superstar Bill “Hugh Morrus” Demott will no doubt give this tournament an extra world class heavyweight feel, and will make for much excitement from AWF fans to see if the Australian stars can match it with the world travelled laughing man Bill Demott.
Another huge under card is planned which will feature intriguing and exciting match ups such as a 4 Way Bout pitting Lebo Ceda, Rob Best, Nick Ferno and Scotty Club against each other, tag team action featuring the 160 kilogram Massive Q, and last years Australia’s Cup winner Mark Hilton battling “Panther” Dean Draven and Matt Wolf, plus the strength of Powerhouse Theo against the superhero like Billy Flyswat.
The Australia’s Cup event is sure to be a blow away evening packed with surprises galore, so if you are looking for a fun night out be sure to make it along and support the Australian Wrestling Federation at Blacktown RSL.
We advise to book early to avoid disappointment as recent AWF events have been turn away sell outs.
