(Source - Dixie Carter press conference 1800 EST, Tampa FL)
'All of us here at TNA are extremely pleased to announce that we have signed a one match contract, with a view to a more permanent, but flexible role, with Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Prior to signing we have assured 'THe Rock' that he will not have to work a busy schedule, and that this one match contract will give him a chance to feel out our promotion.
Realistically we see this as our major step up to the plate to challenge the WWE in a global way. I belieb=ve that now is the time for TNA, having broken from the NWA to step up to the challenge of being a truly global entity. Liasing with Panda Energy, we have decided to accept Spike TV's offer of a two hour television show on Mondays at 2000 EST.
For fans of professional wrestling, this basically means that the 'Monday night wars' are well and truly back on. Our talent has been informed of this decision and has reacted favourably. Our fans will no doubt feel the same. Looking at this from their point of view, I'm not surprised.'

I'll believe it when it's on the TNA website. Not before.
